The e-BlueInfo is an Information Platform for Health Practice developed by BIREME, a Specialized Center of the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO / WHO), which aims to provide relevant and up-to-date information in the hand palm of health professionals.
The name e-BlueInfo is inspired by the successful initiative of WHO – Blue Trunk Libraries – which has expanded access to information in health centers in African districts to compensate the lack of up-to-date medical and health information, through of blue metal boxes containing more than one hundred medical books, public health and three medical journals.
The contents of e-BlueInfo are selected by specialists from the Ministries of Health of the participating countries and are part of the collection of information sources of the Virtual Health Library.

In the initial phase of the Application, the Health Ministries of Brazil and Peru participate in the selection of contents, through their Departments of Primary Health Care, in coordination with the Health Services and Systems Units of the PAHO / WHO in these countries.
